Projects of Kevin Baroldi

The projects are by Kevin Baroldi of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. kevinb@spots.ab.ca

"First of all, the computer desk. I just completed it before Christmas, as a gift for my daughter. I used oak throughout, 2 thicknesses 3/4" oak plywood laminated and edged with 1 x 2 to make a 1 1/2" thick top. It has solid oak drawer faces. I used a Skil saw, router, mitre saw, drill, & biscuit joinner. It took about a month of evenings and weekends to make.

I don't have a table saw but I find that a good circular saw with a good blade and a straight edge clamped to the work, does a great job, especially with large pieces."

"The dog cart was built with a frame of 3/4" and 1/2" electrical conduit and the body is 3/8" fir plywood with some hardwood braces. It is quite light and my dog can pull it as fast as I can run."

"The drawing desk was made from 3/4" MDF and the legs are pine and spruce."

"I am just finishing a cabinet that my mitre saw sits on and all of my tools are stored inside - finally something for me. I seem to give away everything that I build but I get more  satisfaction out of the process of building these things than owning them."
