These projects are from Chad Boehlke lincomuseum@hamilton.net of North Platte, Nebraska, USA.

"I have been making portable writing desks for about two years. This one in the photo is a Georgian style of the late 1700s and is patterned off of one that I have that was made about 1810.

Wood: Mahogany box with inlay sides of Walnut, eucalyptus, and
a unknown South American wood.

The top of the box is a dark grain of unknown wood with I think a butternut top (from a pallet). Writing surface is 1/4” Birch plywood to prevent warping. Other Materials are brass hinges, lock, goose neck handles, corners, with green felt writing surface.

Dimensions: 24.5” depth, 16” width, 5” height

It was stained and hand rubbed with polyurethane. Approx. 4 weeks to complete."
