Projects of Randy Bush
Randy Bush bbwood@telenet.net of Long Lake, New York USA has sent in a shot of his "Harley"! Randy describes his unique project below.
"I got the plans from Cherry
Tree. The tools required are: a scrollsaw, router with 3/8"
round-over bit, and a 1" belt sander is nice to make the
handle bars - you'll need a 1x12x10 clear pine board. After you
cut the parts out and round them over, try to sand as much as you
can before you screw & glue it together. Do not leave any
sharp edges any where, as little people will find a way to get
hurt on them!
I cut little sponges to apply the cherry stain, and they worked well, getting into all the nooks and crannies. Use a satin finish. I sprayed this one, but a good brush will work fine.
Just keep looking for the runs on both sides as you go. This project will take 16-20 hours your first time and there are no short cuts to quality. Just remember the little person that rocks in it today will be giving it to their kids someday."
"I sell them for $250.00."
