Projects of Tom Duffy

Tom Duffy of Rushford, Minnesota, USA tduffy@winonalighting.com has sent in two of his latest projects. He describes them below.

"I just completed this red oak bar/island for a relative.  It is made of red oak plywood for the main substructure and solid red oak for the top and face frame."

"The drawers are from small to large as they go down with the bottom one being 11" deep X 22" long X 22" wide.  The base molding was made from a multi-form router bit.  I made a place to hang glasses in the right hand shelf space."

"Here are a couple of pics. of a changing table and crib that I built for the arrival of our new son. They are both made of red oak with a natural finish applied. The changing table was made from some very basic plan I got from Amateur woodworking "Free Plans" then I spiced it up a bit with the raised panel construction.  All the joints are made with either dados or biscuits.  The raised panels were made with my panel bit set.  The project has a natural oil finish with three coats gloss poly."

"The crib was built from plans I bought from Rockler.  This was a fun but time consuming project because of the 50 plus hole that needed to be drilled for the spindles.  The spindles were made by making a template of the profile on the spindle and the using a template bit to rout them out."
