As my computer desk kept getting more and more cluttered with CDs, I decided I needed a CD storage rack there too, so I designed and built the unit you see to the left. Please click on the photo to see how I made this one. There's a link there too, to the supplier of the inserts which are required.
Here's a nice butcherblock project which is both relatively simple to make and yet quite attractive and useful. I made these to be used for sushi dining, however there are any number of uses for which they can be used.

When faced with an expensive renovation resulting from carpenter ant damage, we decided to tackle the job ourselves, and guess what? It all worked out great, thanks to my step-son Jim, an electrician by trade, who did all the work himself. Here's a look at the renovation of our recroom bathroom. Previously, though it was a bit narrow, it was quite useable. But on days when I needed my wheelchair for getting around, that narrowness was at times challenging.
But now with the increased size, I can close the door, and drive right up to the toilet or the sink, a feat which was previously impossible.
