"I use those foam sanding blocks in various ways with a detail sander and a small reciprocating sander. I use velcro to fasten foam sanding blocks cut to size, to adhere to the sanding pads on these detail sanders. They last for a long time and are the answer to sanding between coats of varathane or any other finish, particularly on wood with a lot of relief detail. It does not destroy the relief work.

It also works well with a palm sander."

"It's best to adhere the velcro on new foam pads, and also the pads that attach to the sanders. It makes for a stronger bon. The velcro can all be fixed to sandpaper on palm sander. When finished, set it aside for later and get back to regular sanding."
