Projects of Kevin Lloyd

Kevin Lloyd of Austintown, Ohio, USAlloyd.116@osu.edu is attending Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He often spends his infrequent spare time in his shop, since he has a passion for woodworking. He has sent in some of his work and describes it below.

"This is my first try with an end table. I made this for my girlfriend for Christmas 2001. The table is solid maple and the top is Italian roof slate and polished river stone set into Durhams water putty (a great product) and the drawer is poplar. It took me about a month from design to finish (Watco natural Danish oil finish). The color is getting even better with age."

"This is a dart board cabinet I came up with. The frame is white pine, the doors are white pine boards glued up. The block O handles (for Ohio State....my college) are red oak on white poplar, set out from the doors on aluminum posts."

"The back is just 3/4" plywood covered with indoor/outdoor carpet. On the inside left door, is a dart holder made of pine also."

"I made this for a buddy of mine who loves "Texas hold'em" but was always carrying the chips in his arms. It is made of different thickness of baltic birch ply. The shell has a red mahogany stain and the inside a cherry stain. The letters are for the college he went to and the one he is going to pharmacy school for. The dowels are poplar and the chips stack up in racks along either side of the divider. I finished the outside off with brass corners and brass brads. This was one of my favorite projects to watch come together."

Kevin also has is own website called Lloyd's Saw-Shop. Head on over there and have a look at his great projects.
