Recroom Bathroom Reno Project

Here's the in-progress reno of our recroom bathroom area. As the work progresses, more photos will be added. Rita's son Jim is doing a fine job for us, and is the guy in some of the photos.

From the Start
The first photo on the left shows the interior bathroom wall to be removed - also where the new door would go (down the hall) after the existing door you see here was removed and tne wall rebuilt, making the storage room part of the then new and much larger bathroom.

Jim demo'd all this stuff and Rita moved it up to the patio herself - I rent her out. ;-)

The pile is almost 5' 7", or about as tall as Rita!
I would have never thought there'd be this much junk from such a small bathroom!

Here, the work continues on the studding and insulating.

And here, Jim is working on the drywalling.

While Jim was redoing our recroom bathroom, he also took the opportunity to replace the original toilet flange which wasn't leaking, but was in need of replacement.

And the photo on the right shows one of the last pieces of the T&G subfloor which has a backing of dimpled rubber.

Done in 2008

The custom oversize door has now been received and Jim has it installed, Jim has the new electrical and the new plumbing operating, the walls have been completed and have been painted. and except for some slight cosmetic tweaking, this reno is now completed.

Here's a before and after look down the hall. On the left, you'll see what we wanted to do in the BEFORE shot, and in the photo on the right, how it looks AFTER all of Jim's efforts. Nice job Jim!

These next 3 photos show how the recroom bathroom looks inside now. As you can see, there's lots of room in the bathroom now, even when I'm using the wheelchair.

A new floor and a drop ceiling was installed too. Our new bathroom is about 3 times as big, so there's lots of room now and it looks sooo much better too!.
