"I found the ZIP plans for this cradle at www.woodworkersworkshop.com and even though no pictures of the completed cradle were available, I thought the design was acceptable at the least. I used pine boards for the entire project and left it unfinished so they could decide how to color it to their liking. I used biscuits to join the headboard and footboard to the upright legs and it worked great. Now I have to build another one for my son who is expecting his second daughter (my second granddaughter) around Thanksgiving."

"Here is a photo of my "Jake's Chair" (free plans available online by searching: Jakes Chair ) I made mine out of rough cut pine. Since I don't have a planer, I sanded all of the pieces smooth which left most of the pieces almost a full inch thick! And the color was not visible until I started sanding."

"What a surprise to this wonderful blue-grey tint to the grain of the wood.
This is the most comfortable outdoor (Adirondak style) chair I have seen. Extremely sturdy! I weigh over 300 lbs and am over 6' tall. I love it! One final note - when you search for Jakes Chair, there is a 7 page tutorial on making "Jake's Chair" complete with photos throughout the construction process with a couple of tips by the author."

"I also made a loveseat, using the "Jake's Chair" design by lengthening the seat slats from 27" to 47", adding a third "leg" in the middle of the seat and adjusting the back bracing to accept a few more back slats."
