Projects of Tom Strohscher

This lovely curio cabinet was sent in by Tom Strohscher of Oregon, Ohio, USA strohtm@toast.net. Tom describes it as follows:

"This curio cabinet was made for my wife's bear figurines. I designed the cabinet, which is really two pieces, myself. The base with the drawer, and the support frame for the glass. The doors and sides were made with a pair of rail and stile router bits.

There is a false top that conceals two halogen lights and their wiring. It has glass shelves that let the light pass though. The doors and side panels are individual panes of glass leaded together. The process of assembling the glass was pretty easy.

The cabinet is made out of red oak with a rub on oil stain from Deft. It's 70.5" tall x 46" wide and is 14" deep."
