"Twenty years ago, a family asked me to build a rocking horse for their daughter. Last winter, I ran across photos of it and wondered if I still had the plans. I found them (against all odds) and built another horse for my wife's granddaughter, Madee. I was unable to find the fluffy stuff for the mane and tail for the new one so I substituted some big yarn. Anyone know where I could get that really fluffy stuff? I checked craft and fabric stores here in Lincoln with no luck. Here's pictures of both"

"Here's a cedar and siding potting bench I built for my wife."

"This is one view of Annie's (my oldest grandchild) jewelry box that I made for her for Christmas. It was made out of scraps of oak from the blanket chest below. I scaled down the blanket chest to come up with a plan (in my head) for the jewelry box. I lined the removable inserts and the drawer using the "flocking" method. If anyone hasn't tried it, I recommend it. It's easy and looks much nicer than the glued in felt method."

"An inside look of the jewelry box"

"The "birdhouse bench" that I made for my wife, is made out of 80 year old barn wood from my uncle's barn. Yes, I got permission first!"

"In August of 2000, my wife asked me to build a blanket chest for her daughter's birthday in September. I looked around and found the most complicated plan I could, bought the red oak, and started. I gave it to her for her birthday in September of 2001."

"Man, that is tough stuff to learn to cut hand cut dovetails on! I didn't exactly work on it continuously for the entire year. Sarah loves the chest. I lined the bottom of it with cedar panels so it has the smell. She was not impatient at all since she didn't know about it until I gave it to her."
