Projects of John Syrjanen

My name is John Syrjanen syram@sasktel.net and I live in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada and these are a few of my projects.

"This is an oak computer desk that I built this spring."

"This is a flower bed my middle daughter requested. It is made out of fir, spruce, oak, maple, and a little mahogany."

"Another project this year was my youngest daughter's covered wagon planter. It is mostly laminated white pine with oak hitch and oak frame. The hoops are copper brazing rod."

"This project was for my youngest daughter's daughter,,, my grand-daughter (6 month's old). It is a cradle I made out of mahogany and the uprights and bracing are fir."

"I made this sleigh for my grand-son (my oldest daughter's). The runners and under supports are made of solid oak. I bought a planer this year and the deck and seating are white birch that I planed, sized and stained cherry."

"My birch tool cabinet is not quite complete. I built it for my wood tool, sandpaper, etc.

It is not completed but the weather chased me out until spring. As you probably notice, all of my projects were out of my head. I didn't use any plans. I built things the way I was requested to (with a few improvisations) and the way things worked the best for me."
